The pulpería (little corner store) near our house. We often send the kids here to buy milk. Very convenient!

Watch your step! Grates mysteriously disappear from storm catch basins, and may not be replaced for quite a long time. These gaping holes are affectionately called "Gringo Traps". I wonder if there are any small schoolchildren in this one?

Gus loves Nicole, a little girl on our street. She's the perfect height for licking, and never tires of throwing his toy for him to fetch.

There was a huge line of these guys winding its way from this tree, around the park, across a creek via a wooden bridge, down to their nest. Slightly creepy, but mostly very fascinating. We all learned to keep our sandaled feet out of their path.

Leafcutter ants! So cool! They don't eat the leaves, but collect them to make a yummy fungus.

The language school organized an outing. We stopped at this mirador (lookout) on the way. We would have been very content to just stay there!
