Pre-field Care

We aren't just looking for warm bodies. Let's get that right out on the table. We know for a fact that we don't fit everyone, nor does everyone fit with us.

We have found that sometimes it takes years of conversations and encouragement and more conversations before a person is ready to move forward with appointment. This time isn't about just being with WorldVenture. It's about responding to God. That's why our coaches are more than recruiters; they are challenged to engage in the whole journey God has you on.

Local Coaches

Because this process of identifying your calling and responding to it is HUGE, we want people in your neighborhood(ish) who can talk with you and go to coffee with you. These local coaches are committed volunteers from within local churches who have a burden to walk with people wrestling with the calling for missions.

Mobilization

Once you are ready, we have staff at the home office which come along side you and work through many of the logistic details. We've done this for a while, so we know that if you think you are called to evangelize the Sahara desert and you are deathly allergic to sand ... well frankly that's something we need to talk about. Maybe that same people group lives in Paris (without sand). We help work out these kinds of things to help you find the best expression of your passion.

Partner Development

We are a faith support mission. All our international staff (i.e. missionaries) go based on a supporting, sending community of believers who have joined and invested in their vision for missionary work. This process is beautiful in God's eyes. It requires faith and dependence on Him. And it works.

Yet for most new international staff (i.e. missionaries) this process is foreign. Developing this network of partners is essential and WorldVenture prepares pre-field appointees with a handful of targeted, effective training times and on-going support during this phase of the missionary journey.

We have an entire division of Worldventure called the Paraclete Centre that is staffed with trainers, mentors, and professional counselors.

On-Field Care

We look hard for the people God would want to go with us and join our global family, so we place a lot of time and attention into the coaching process of helping someone get to the decision of becoming a missionary. And once God has brought us the right people, we do everything to keep them healthy, supported and effective in their time serving God overseas.

Emotional Wellness Care

Crossing-cultures, learning language, and seeking to bring the gospel where it has not been heard taxes the deepest heart of a person. Those who have no network or experienced counselors who know the challenges of mission work and know how to restore a fallen soldier back to healthy ministry ... those who lack this often return from the field wounded and discouraged.

Our Paraclete Centre is staffed with experienced advocates to help you stand up again after stumbling and continue the work God called you to.

Ministry Development Guidance

Having the vision and seeing it advance on the ground in a foreign country in a foreign language are two different things. Our field leadership and International Ministry Directors act as advocates for you, guiding and supporting the development of your ministry.

Third-Culture Kid Coordination

Our Paraclete Centre has dedicated staff that monitors and pastors the Third Culture Kids in our WorldVenture family. Third Culture Kids is a term to describe the effect and unique experience of children from one culture who are raised in another culture. Not only does our staff create intentional community for the WorldVenture children, they counsel and advise parents on issues of education and the special needs of their children.

Continuing Education

One high value for WorldVenture is education. Our culture provides opportunities for all international staff to pause field work to pursue advanced degrees. Our Paraclete Centre also provides continued practical training during home assignments and field conferences.

Logistics Support

From a service perspective, WorldVenture handles many points of key logistics so that you are more free to spend time on ministry. WorldVenture headquarter services include financial processing of donations, yearly tax submission, communication materials production, mail processing, etc, All of these services and many others have the single goal of increasing freedom for the work to go forward on the field.
