The funds from this special project will meet the needs of an evangelist and his family, who are working with Mission Inter Senegal, the Senegal home mission organization, to establish a church in the city of Diourbel.
PROBLEM
The group of believers in Diourbel, without full-time national leadership, languished for a number of years. Diourbel has been the stronghold of the evil one in the major religion’s largest denomination.
VISION
In partnership with Mission Inter Senegal, WorldVenture workers hope to see the believers work together to reach this city with the gospel. We envision a major breakthrough for the Lord with at least two churches within the next five years.
STRATEGY
We already have a committed partner in Jefferson Baptist Church of Jefferson, OR. They are committed to this group for five years.
CAPACITYThe total amount of the project, $7,200, is on a descending scale of support beginning in May 2004 at $200 per month for the first year; $160 , the second year; $120, the third year; $80, the fourth year; and $40, the fifth year. From that time on, the national church supports its pastor in full.
