Children & Youth Worker

Work with a Rwandan partner to promote and further develop the program for discipling children and youth in the churches of Rwanda, including teaching children and teachers of children within churches.

REQUIREMENTS:
At least a BA in Bible. Courses in children's and youth work (and possibly curriculum development) Experience in these areas. Creativity. Self-motivating. Takes initiative. Interacts well with other people. Team player. Ability to adapt to the lower level of technology and computer savvy of the African situation. Resilient and adaptable personality. Strong devotional life. Conviction that God wants you in Rwanda with NCM. The WorldVenture missionaries in Rwanda work as a team; the candidate must be willing to work under the leadership of the team and within the context of its benefits and responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn the Kinyarwanda language. Work with a team of staff and volunteers to develop programs in a wide variety of Rwandan churches to win children and youth to Christ and disciple them in Him. This would involve: 1) Evaluating existing programs 2) Training and counseling children and youth workers in the churches 3) Developing a network of those working in this type of ministry in Rwanda 4) Developing resources

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Kigali is a 3rd world city; Kinyarwanda is spoken by all, and essential for friendship and discipleship. Outward westerness covers a very different inner-culture. It is an insecure region of the world.
