6401-911-Tahirin’ala Nature Center

The Tahirin’ala Nature Center is an 8-acre forest in the heart of the city of Mahajanga, on the west coast of Madagascar and is the last remaining canopy forest in the area. Tahirin’ala is legally certified by the Malagasy government as an animal rescue site and serves as a rescue and rehabilitation facility for trafficked lemurs, tortoises, boa constrictors, tenrecs, and more. It is the goal of Tahirin’ala that many of these endemic animals would be relocated back into healthy forests that Red Island Restoration is planting and protecting. In addition, Tahirin’ala serves as a research site for the University of Mahajanga environmental science students and serves as a center for educational field trips for local elementary schools to see these beautiful animals in their natural forest habitat. Finally, it is our desire that Tahirin’ala may be a place where many experience nature while learning about God’s design and creation. If you are interested in connecting creation care and missions, please consider joining the Tahirin’ala Nature Center’s monthly financial partnership team.
