    Sharing Advent in Public School

Pray for Beverly as she received permission from a school principal to hold an Advent in English night at the local elementary school. Pray that she’ll be able to explain the real reason for the Advent of Jesus Christ.

    Mentoring Relationships

Praise the Lord we had an attendance of 85 ladies at our Sisterhood Celebration. All of them are involved in a mentoring relationship, although some of them are just beginning. Pray they continue their commitment to the program and that mentor and mentee will grow in their walk with the Lord through the experience.

    Student Center

The Student Center is up and running with classes in session and small groups (Christian kids) meeting together. One young woman accepted Christ and has begun discipleship classes and five students are preparing for baptism at Christmas! Praise the Lord for this ministry.
  • Universal Truth Via Prof

I just stood there in front of the college, stood quietly, and basically let a non-Christian philosophy professor convince two guys of their need for the truth.

Cedrick and Francis, two young students, were convinced that universal truth cannot be known.

I challenged this presupposition, but they weren't convinced...until he walked by.

"Hey prof!" they called out. "You're a philosophy professor, so what do you think, does some sort of universal truth exist?"

"Absolutely!" he confidently responded. "This becomes clear as we regard morality. It doesn't matter what society you are in; incest is wrong, murder is wrong, the abuse of children is wrong. Granted, there are societies that do not believe that these are wrong, but it is clear that human beings have certain inherent rights that supersede the particular beliefs of any one society. These are all universal truths."

He continued for a bit, completely demolishing any arguments Cedric and Francis might have had.

God did an amazing thing through a non-Christian philosophy professor today.

Though still not ready to accept the gospel, it was the second Jesus-centered discussion I've had with Cedrick. I'll be back next week to meet with him, Francis, Milène, Jonathan and Jonathan.

WorldVenture Appoints Five Couples for Ministry

WorldVenture recently appointed five couples--Rob and Heather Blanks, Mozambique, Brian and Cassie Larson, Spain, Jamie and Gayle Pund, Italy, and two other couples serving in security sensitive areas. Please pray for these men and women who have committed their lives to serving God overseas.
  • Rob & Heather Blanks

Newly Appointed to Serve in Mozambique

Rob and Heather Blanks are preparing to serve through leadership development and discipleship in Mozambique. They want to share with the people of Mozambique that Jesus is sufficient for today and the only hope for what is to come. Rob seeks to accomplish this by training leaders and making disciples who know and live by God’s Word. Heather plans to be involved in mentoring women and teaching children. She also has a heart for ministering to those suffering with AIDS. Rob and Heather have four children: Marian, Hayden, Judah and Josiah. They are members of Foothills Fellowship Church in Littleton, Colorado.
  • Brian & Cassie Larson

Newly Appointed to Serve in Spain

After a decade of pastoral ministry, Brian and Cassie Larson will minister in Spain, where they seek to equip and ignite the Spanish church to reach North Africans. Brian sees himself as a catalyst for recruiting, mobilizing and training individuals and teams to develop and serve ministries in Spain and North Africa. The Larsons are passionate about equipping and sustaining long-term church development. Cassie also anticipates ministering to Spanish women through evangelism, counseling and mentoring. The Larsons have two children: Ethan and Tobi. They are members of Crow Hill Bible Church in Bailey, Colorado.
  • Jamie & Gayle Pund

Newly Appointed to Serve in Italy

Jamie and Gayle Pund anticipate serving in Italy facilitating and training small groups and leaders to serve the Italian churches. Jamie will partner with other WorldVenture missionaries in Naples, Italy, facilitating small groups and training small group leaders. Gayle will use her gift of hospitality to provide a welcoming place for seekers to learn the truth of the Bible. She is also hoping to use her experience as a dance instructor to minister to the youth in the church and to do outreach. The Punds have three children: Daniel, Kaylene and Ceciley. They are members of Cornerstone Community Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
  • WorldVenture Workers

Their efforts will be directed towards leadership development by way of theological education and evangelism. Other areas of involvement will include hospitality, teaching English and children’s ministry. The second couple is preparing to serve in church development, theological education and children’s ministry in the  Middle East.

    Outreach Blessings

We praise the Lord for the development of our church outreach. GCF Northeast “Outreach” is moving toward having regular worship services and have an opportunity to rent space for a reasonable price. Please pray with us that the Lord will bless this work and it would grow.

    Famine Relief

The rainy season was intense, but much too brief. By the beginning of October—a whole month early—the weather had already turned cool and dry. This year’s harvest will not be adequate to keep some families from going hungry. Many of their farm animals have already died. WorldVenture-Senegal has geared up its famine relief efforts. We have already delivered over $4,000 in relief monies for the area churches to purchase grain for distribution. Pray that more people in the region will be drawn to the Savior as they see His love in action through His church here. Also, it is likely we will need more funds before the famine is over. If you would like to help our African brothers and sisters feed their families and show Christ’s love to their neighbors, send your gift to WorldVenture designated for special project Senegal: Famine Relief #6403-933.

    The Lounge: An Outreach Opportunity

We have begun an outreach at a college in downtown St-Jerome every Wednesday at 1 p.m. that we call, "Le Lounge: une place pour discuter, une place pour s'encourager, une place pour prier. Jésus existe..." Translation: "The Lounge: a place for discussion, a place to be encouraged, a place to pray. Jesus exists..." Please pray for the thousands of students who attend this college. Pray that God would open their hearts to explore and accept the Truth we share at The Lounge.

    Sharing About the Living God

At a recent crusade in Salta, 54 people accepted Christ. Carolyn personally met with seven women to share about the living God. One person accepted Christ and the others still want to know more before they make a decision.
