Yes, we are on the road again...but this time we are flying...to Phoenix, AZ to represent WorldVenture at SouthWestern College.  This is a new school for us and we are both excited about this short trip.  I l ove to fly!!!!   and when Kent gave me the job of getting our tickets and everything lined up..I was quick to go to the computer to check out prices etc.  I love doing that kind of thing , so in a very few days I had it all arranged.

We are especially excited about this college for several reasons.  Carol Taylor who is the  head of the Educational Department..is also on WorldVenture board of directors.  She is trying to give us a bunch of different connnections.

We are also looking for a place to park our “house” while we are there Dec -March... So that is aother reason for going now too.

It felt really strange leaving our "house."...I guess I a getting really used to living in our RV. But we are going to be gone for 4 days...Yeah!
Sunny day!!!  Yeah!

Well after soo many days of rain..we finally got a beautiful sunny day. I was just praising God for it!! It was soo pretty and blue and not a cloud in the sky...so we worked in the morning, But... by lunch I was itching to go for a drive to see Mt Hood. Which we had only seen a little of since we arrived here....and which I knew would be so nice now. When we got rain, the mountain got snow, so it looks so pretty now.  So we drove through the fall colors towards the mountain..there was such gorgeous scenery along the way..I had a hard time remembering to do the map reading.

We just were awestruck by the beauty of this mountain and as we went on towards the ski resorts..the clouds starting rising from the top of it.  We enjoyed this so much...I just need these kinds of days once in awhile to revive that “soul” part of me.  This is my way of connecting with nature.  Just great!
I hope you can enjoy the pictures a little..but if you really want to see it, come to Oregon...maybe in the summer or winter to ski...

Till later, Jan for Kent too
Rain, rain, rain

Yes here we are in the NW(Portland, Oregon) in the fall.. the rainest part of their year... We have had 5 days/nights of mostly rain... Kent said this morning that if it keeps up we should start building and ark..or rather trade in our RV for one... NO, not really but we are both ready for a mostly sunny day.  We do get “bits” of sun most days... and we do try to get out and enjoy it...I do keep an umbrella handy, but I am ready for the Colorado sunshine...do they still have some???

We interviewed a couple tonight for WorldVenture. A radiology technician and his sweet wife..I think that is the correct title...any medical people out there, correct me, if it isn’t right?  They are interested in going to a hospital for about 4-6 weeks..They are looking at Africa.  Wow, what a neat couple and I am sure their children also would be great.  We enjoyed our time with them.

We hope to see Mt Hood tomorrow...and we are going to try out a new church.  I do enjoy the Bible study that we got connected to, thanks to Doug and Ruth Hazen.  The men are mostly going to be gone next week...Kent and Doug are going to a Pastors Prayer summit...and the rest are going Elk hunting..So the ladies have agreed to come to our little place.  I am planning a little tea party..That should be fun. Until later, Jan
Hi all, it has been a long time since I wrote here...I tried another site..that doesn't work for me either... I am trying this again...Help..any of you bloggers out there.

I do want to tell you about my recent journey..
We had been situated in Portland,Oregon for one week when I got a call from my sister-in-law, Dee...that my brother Ralph was probably not going to make it more than a few days.  Ralph was diagnosed with lung, blood, and bone cancer back last November and given 6 months to live... he had put up a valiant struggle but the cancer had progressed.  He was asking to see all of us. I was able to get a flight ”thanks to Hotwire for the next day and flew to Pennsylvania in hopes of being in time to see him while he was still lucid" .  Well God gave me more than that.  I did see Ralph, the very first day and then was able to stay with my sister-in-law and help care for Ralph to his last breath.  What a privilege it was to be at his side and Dee’s too!  We had some very precious times sharing together and remembering some of the antics together.  I got to see my three other brothers come and play “rummy with Ralph and he really enjoyed that.  I was able to read scripture and pray with him and just minister to he and Dee.  What a blessing!  BUT losing a brother as special as he was, is not easy and I will miss him till I see him again in heaven.  After the funeral I got to spend some time visiting other family and friends while in PA.

God did give me some special moments with my mother and Dee afterwards too.  I keep praying for Dee and Mom though.

Yes, I am back in Portland, Oregon and glad to be back with my husband...I sure missed him on this particular journey..but because he didn't come I was able to stay with Dee and Ralph...

Lots of Love,
Jan
