Yes, we were in Ann Arbor, Michigan for a week with our son, Josh , his wife Teresa and little Silas!!!  Silas is 2 1/2 years old and such fun! Kent and I had the entire Easter week to spoil him and give him lots of attention. When we drove to the airport he expected to be taken out of his car seat to go with us...When I didn’t take him out he kind looked away like he was mad ..I know he didn’t understand. But he is so dear and fun to be with. We got to be with his other grandparents too and Teresa’s whole family was there for Easter. So that was fun.

We even got to see some snow while there. The Michiganders were probably very tired of snow but I didn’t mind. I had another Gout attack while there, but thankfully I don’t have the excruciating pain that often comes with it. I did need to put my foot up though and so wasn’t exactly the life of the party! It is getting better again and I did get some folic acid that was reported to help. Yeah!

But yesterday I did a really ditsy thing. I was trying to braise a roast for getting it ready for a the crock pot...and it flipped out and I caught it by my wrist and forearm...well the olive oil I was using was very hot..and it splashed onto my arm. I did put ice on it and then aloe vera gel It looks and feels much better today...I was lucky! No, I believe that God protected me. These things do happen to all of us. I am so glad that it didn’t blister... We are back in Phoenix and now parked on South Western college campus. I will post a few pics for you to see... enjoy! Jan for the Reimers

Yes, we are still in Yuma. We had a good recommendation to visit a dentist in Mexico while here, so thought we’d try it out.  The town of Los Algodones is almost all full of dentists, eye drs, pharmacies and liquor stores for a ton of Americans that cross the border for discounted prices on these services and goods.  We arrived at the border to cross at 8:30am and people were already crossing back in to America by then.  Wow..they got up early and did their quick shopping and finished by then...

Well, our friends had given us the info so we had made an appointment. We had no concern when we weren’t called in “on time” because we lived in South America and knew they often run late.  I did get the one tooth worked on I was concerned about and the preliminary work done for the crown.  I was still pretty numb when 4 hours later I was ready to go.  Kent was so patient waiting around and even pricing some medicines that we wanted to get. I was now pretty tired so we had something to eat and then back to the border...the wait was about 1 1/2 hours. We were so glad to have a little shade and a bottle of water.   We got home kind of late but had a good day.  I had to go back on Friday.  so that delays our leaving Yuma by a day but we felt it was worth getting that tooth cared for.   So we had Thursday to do the stuff we wanted to and  needed to before leaving and then Friday(today) back to Mexico.  I did get to the dentist and had the crown in place in really short time.  We also got my new prescription of glasses.  Since I don’t use these very much I just got the lenses put into my old frames.  $60.  Pretty good.  I am wearing them at this moment so they are working pretty good. We also got a bottle of Ibuprofen and some gout medicine while there.

That is our Mexico Dental and Eye Dr adventure. I turned out good for us and we will possibly do it again when in the area.

We are going to drive back to Phoenix tomorrow and we will settle in at the campus of South Western College. After the spring break we look forward to getting to know the students there better.

Yes we made it to Yuma. Arizona on Friday with no problems. Kent and I really enjoyed the day of travel. It was a short drive only 3 1/2 hours. We stopped for lunch by the road which I had packed before we left to expedite our travel. It was a really pretty drive across the desert too. We saw so much of it in bloom. And then when we got closer to Yuma we started seeing lots of fields..of green. Wow how pretty! Apparently this is where a lot of lettuce comes from as well as broccoli, cauliflower. They also grow some oranges and grapefruit and lots of lemons. We also found that they raise dates here too. So all in all a lot of food is grown here. We are enjoying some good prices on the local produce. And yes we even were able to go to an outdoor farmers market. Today the temps went to 88. I know many of you are still dealing with snow...I am sorry you can’t enjoy this beautiful sunshine. We had a good Sunday at Grace Bible Fellowship church. We had met the pastor and a possible candidate for WorldVenture on Saturday. We are here to interview the couple interested in serving. After Kent spoke in Sunday School and church, there were a few more interested in serving. so he had a lunch interview today as well. It has definitely been a good trip so far. We are planning on staying a week since we have some other things to do. I am sending you a little sunshine from Arizona. Love, The Roving Reimers

Yes, we are going to move...but only a few hours away form where we have been parked since December.  It is exciting! since we have stayed put all this time..both kent and I were getting a little restless. But the reason we are moving is because Kent has a speaking engagement in Yuma.  So we are going to check out the area for a week. Yuma, Arizona is in the corner of Arizona, California and Mexico.  So it should be a little different.

We have enjoyed living at Pioneer RV park and will probably come back. We have had good neighbors and also other great acquaintances and one couple of special friends.  We hope to see many of them again.  God does knit your hearts together and sometimes in a very short time.  At times this surprises us and other times we are just watching God at work.

We have also really enjoyed the spring here in Phoenix.  The mountains around us have really “greened up” a lot.  And the little desert flowers are starring to bloom. It is a lot different form the springs we have had in all the other places that we have lived and therefore we have really enjoyed it.  When we have daytime temps in the 70’s and nighttime in the 40’s we do realize that we are living in a desert region. BUT we are grateful to not have to use any heat any more and not to have to shovel snow. Sorry to those of you who are shoveling a lot this winter...

Well, I will let you know how Yuma is later. We hope and pray that you are having a great day! May God bless you!
