Classroom discipline was not a big issue in the 16th century. If you were a disruption in class you wore the donkey head in the corner of the classroom for the
rest of the day. If you were not writing with the correct posture or not sitting up straight in your desk you could expect a swift 'whack' across the knuckles or back. The switches often broke, so a bundle may be needed. Oh the glory days of classroom management......................... It is interesting to note that the educational system in the Czech Republic still has some of this culture. Czech schools are based on the shame method. There is little positive encouragement, most students are shamed into following guidelines and directives.
