Ministry-at-a-Glance
Primary Ministry Focus Evangelism and discipleship for children-at-risk, focusing on Fundacion Shalom, a home for 30 boys who have lived on the street. Development of a church plant and community center in the “invasiones” (slums) of the city.
The People Primarily those of Latin descent and a few indigenous groups. Children ranging in age from 5-18, many of who are orphaned. The slum areas bring a mix of the entire country as people come seeking work.
Major Challenges Remaining encouraged despite continual regression among the kids we are working with, encouraging the local church to join this type of work and continually raising funds.
Prayer Focus Pray for the boys of Fundacion Shalom, for restoration and transformation in their lives, as well as the lives of their extended families. Pray also for open doors for partnerships around the city to reach the impoverished communities.
