At Appointment We’ll Feed You

Introduction to the WorldVenture family starts with appointment as a missionary. You’ll come to the home office for one to two weeks where you’ll go through orientation, interviews, and training in a community of other beginning missionaries.

And of course, you’ll share meals with fellow new missionaries, home office staff, and leaders of the organization.

At Trainings We’ll Feed You

Continued education and development is a high value for WorldVenture. After you are appointed and as you are developing your support network, we schedule a series of onsite trainings where we develop your skill in articulating and clarifying the story of what God is doing in you and what He is calling you to do.

How, you might ask, do you do that without eating? Don’t fear. We thought of that too. We’ll have the food ready for tired post-training minds.

At Home Assignments We’ll Feed You

Especially, for longer commitment lengths we build into your ministry schedule times to return home and connect with family, supporters and churches. (The old term for this was furlough.) During part of that time back in the States, we schedule you to come to the home office for continued training, whole person health evaluations, and spiritual encouragement and support within the community of other Home Assignment missionaries and our missionary care team (the Paraclete Center).

One long time missionary from the Middle East who has been with WorldVenture for more than 30 years, said he felt this week together with other missionaries was “like camp.” The relationships and shared meals with fellow cross-cultural workers restores life and energy in ways that few other contexts can.

At Renewal Conferences ...
(well, you can probably guess)

Every year, we host a Renewal Conference for the mission family (mostly attended by anyone in the U.S. at the time), and we can’t underline enough how powerful this time is for us. Our missionary care team puts huge energy into arranging speakers and plenary sessions to bring spiritual refreshment and encouragement to participants. We begin with 2 days of prayer. Prayer for each other and prayer for the work. Then we feed you.
