Apprentice Program Mentor

The last 20 years of ministry in Uganda has produced almost 2000 Baptist Churches. However, the Church remains a mile wide and an inch deep. To meet this challenge professionals need to integrate work with discipleship. Intro The Internship in Discipleship and The Ideas Workshop. High school graduates are trained in metal fabrication and carpentry in The Ideas Workshop which is owned and operated by The Internship in Discipleship. Your opportunity is to come join Jon and Jenny Davis in the Internship in Discipleship and The Ideas Workshop providing Biblically based in-depth life development and skills training to a group of dedicated and committed young Ugandans.

REQUIREMENTS:
Male. BA or higher in Bible, Youth Ministry or related field. Desire to live in community with other missionaries and Ugandan youth. Compassion, coaching ability, team work, able to work among poor with limited resources. Willing to have very broad impact by training others. Self-motivated. Will need to know how to prepare food from scratch. Timing must be confirmed with Jon & Jenny Davis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sequentially: Learn language and culture (depending on time commitment). Learn and participate in the Apprentice Ship Program. Live and work in proximity and collaboration with Jon and Jenny Davis and a dozen or so Ugandan young men to join God in developing youth who will grow into faithful leaders and disciples who are servants and persons of integrity, who handle and apply the Word well, with a passion for the lost as well as the found, who are equipped and have a passion for training others, and who are holistically healthy in personal and family life.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Uganda generally has a wonderful climate, warm sometimes moist days, cooler nights getting progressively warmer to the north. You would be living in Kampala, Uganda in a Ugandan neighborhood either in an apartment or renting a house with another house mate, possibly Ugandan.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
WorldVenture in Uganda, UgandaVenture, seeks to strengthen and enlarge the church of Jesus Christ as they minister holistically to children, youth, and adults, to those of minority groups, and to the disenfranchised, in partnership with the Baptist Union of Uganda and other local churches, through formal and informal education in leadership training and through strategic relationships. They do this envisaging creative, vibrant, and reproducing churches composed of mature believers of integrity, equipped through holistic training, who are committed to building strong family units, mentoring others, and impacting the circles in which they move in positive and profound ways.
