Medical Student Externship
REQUIREMENTS:
Female. Must be in the 4th year of medical school or in residency and interested in the future possibility of medical mission service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the physician and obstetrician/gynecologist in their responsibilities. Hospitalized patient care, clinic consultation. Other associated assigned duties.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
The hospital is located on a 7 acre compound in a rural area, approximately 40 minutes away from a major city and airport. People working here will need to adjust certain aspects of their living according to local cultural norms. Housing is available on and off the hospital compound. Internet service is available. Climate during the summer is very hot - usually hovering between 100° and 120°F. Electricity is not consistent but the hospital has a generator.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The hospital has 34 beds for women & children with two 12-bed wards and 10 private rooms, labor room, delivery room, two operating rooms, outpatient department, small laboratory and pharmacy. The hospital is largely staffed with national workers.
