University Librarian

Join the team in Rwanda in the ministry of theological education! We have a 12,000 volume library that needs exceptional skills of someone passionate about developing this awesome resource.

Bachelor’s degree in library science would be most helpful, but any studies in library science or library work experience would be sufficient. One must be detail-oriented and well-organized and have simple understanding of database management. One needs an ability to teach students how to use the library and conduct research. Resilient and adaptable personality. WorldVenture missionaries in Rwanda work as a team; the candidate must be willing to work with the team and within the context of its benefits and responsibilities.
Facilitating and supporting learning by teaching information retrieval skills to students in the classroom and as-needed in the library. You will spend considerable time working with electronic resources, database management, and cataloguing. You will train several Africans to catalogue and shelve books and maintain the database. You will also help to strategically develop this important resource.
English, Kinyarwanda
Kigali is a 3rd world city. Although Kinyarwanda is the primary language used in Rwanda, this person will have the freedom to operate in English and use an interpreter when necessary. Outward appearances often enshroud a very different inner-culture. This is an insecure region of the world.
You will be part of the great WorldVenture missionary team and the great Rwandan NCM team!
