4000-153-DeNeui, Mark and Lisa

Mark is a Bible teacher specializing in the New Testament who trains church leaders and church planters in French-speaking Europe. Lisa is an EFL and French teacher and uses these skills to build relationships and serve the local community while sharing her faith. Mark and Lisa both serve with a network of church plants in the City of Strasbourg. We are passionate about making Christ’s love and salvation known in our community and beyond by serving alongside the local French church in loving our neighbors, sharing the gospel and discipling believers.

Challenges:

– Finding new and authentic ways to share God’s plan of salvation to a post-modern generation, most of whom have never held a Bible or known anyone who attends a church.

-Equipping disciple-making disciples, followers of Christ, that will go on to share their faith and accompany others in their Christian walk.

-Staying focused daily on loving God and others, more than all the things this world offers.

About Us:
The church has been a central passion for Mark and Lisa DeNeui throughout their lives of ministry. Mark and Lisa were appointed with WorldVenture in 1991 as church planters to Belgium, a country with very few believers and churches. With teamwork and God’s grace, they planted a church in western Brussels. As the church became more established, Mark began training church leaders at the Belgian Bible Institute.

As Mark’s teaching experience confirmed his gifting and passion for training church leaders, Lisa’s ministry of discipleship and Bible study teaching grew. In order to open the most doors possible for future ministry, the DeNeuis, with WorldVenture’s support, moved to Aberdeen, Scotland in 2004 where Mark completed a doctorate in New Testament focusing on the church. Lisa led youth ministry at a Baptist Church.

For the past 12 years, the DeNeuis have lived in Alsace, France where they have both served in the local church through evangelism, preaching, hosting a home group, and leading English clubs and camps. Mark has been teaching at Bible Institutes in Brussels, Geneva and Aix-En-Provence. Lisa also taught French at the Black Forest Academy where their three children attended school.

In September 2020, the DeNeuis moved to Strasbourg, France to join a church planting network led by one of Mark’s former students. While Mark continues to teach classes in the Bible Institutes, the DeNeuis will also be serving in the French church Eglise Evangélique de la Krutenau in Strasbourg. Mark will also be able to serve this local church by offering more in-depth Biblical teaching to those who don’t have the opportunity to attend Bible school.

Lisa will be working in the Community Center, Le Quai 67, a café and center that offers not only food and hot beverages, but language classes and legal advice for refugees and immigrants in the city, homework help for local school children and mother and toddler get-togethers. Lisa is excited to be a part of this vital ministry in the neighborhood of the Strasbourg train station where there are many opportunities to serve those in need both physically and spiritually. Le Quai 67 clearly states that it is run by Christians who are motivated by the teaching and example of Jesus Christ to love their neighbors unconditionally and in concrete ways.

Mark and Lisa are also one of four couples who make up WorldVenture’s Europe/Middle-East Team (EMT). This team oversees WorldVenture’s missionaries in Europe and the Middle East through supervision, training and encouragement. The DeNeuis are specifically in charge of personnel in Germany, Poland, England, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

The DeNeui’s have three adult children and a son-in-law residing in the U.S. who are always happy to come and visit their parents when they can, or make great memories together when Mark and Lisa are back in the U.S.
