Mobilizing local communities of Christ followers through discipleship and training so that the unreached people groups of Kalimantan would be transformed by the Gospel.
Like in any developing country, serving as a Gospel worker in Indonesia has its challenges. Poor infrastructure, political tensions, widespread poverty, and even religious persecution persist. Deep-rooted tribal religion and the predominant religion are excessively resistant to the Gospel, and the Indonesian churches struggle with a tendency toward misunderstanding the Gospel as just another way to work your way to heaven.
–that our individual hearts would be continually transformed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
–that our family would be knit together as one and be wise to the enemy’s schemes.
–that ministry to those we serve would be a natural outflow of our transformed lives.
–that God would use our ministry to strengthen the resolve of our ministry partners (YOU) as they hear how He is using them to reach Indonesia with the Good News of Jesus.
Our family (Brian, Holly, Hattie, Isaac, Eli, and Annie) shares one common desire: that God would take our lives and use them in a way that brings Him glory and that those who have not yet heard the name of Jesus would have the opportunity to know Him.
Since God opened our eyes and hearts to the amazing gift of His grace and we truly understood the Gospel, He has been growing and preparing us for overseas ministry. In our previous four years of serving in Indonesia, He has confirmed and further shown us how He has equipped us to build up, disciple, train, and be mobilizers of Indonesian believers. We have had the joy already of doing just that and have also heard the hearts of some of those believers and their prayers for workers to come to bring them the training and encouragement they so long for.
We will be serving in West Kalimantan, where for over ten years the church in that area has been praying that God would send people to help them in their efforts to reach the unreached people groups on the island. We do not think it a coincidence that God began stirring our hearts to GO about this same time!
