Teaching English offers many open doors for sharing our Hope. There are numerous opportunities to teach English in schools, tutoring centers, and English clubs. Grammar is taught in schools, but many students fail their oral portion of the English exam. English Clubs offer a lot of opportunities for open conversations.

REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for someone with knowledge or experience in teaching English. We are looking for a self-starter. Someone willing to creatively teach English and find opportunities. Our team would help point you in the direction of schools and different places that would give you opportunities to teach, both formally and informally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
If qualified, teach English in a school setting. There are also opportunities to tutor, hold English Clubs or do conversational English in more casual settings.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Live in Dakar, a big, crowded city, lots of traffic, lots of amenities and good Christian school for children using American curriculum. Apartment or houses for rent. July through October hot and humid. Pleasant December through May.

The working environment would depend on your creativity and qualifications. You could teach in a public or private school alongside nationals. We offer tutoring classes in our church building, where you could join that work or start your own. You might also hold an English club in our church building or in your own home or neighborhood. You would be working with nationals, and we would connect you with a local church for follow-up when needed.
