Family Consultant

Concerning the risks for children being trafficked in Myanmar, the cultural norm to send children away for work or education, and the misunderstanding of the effectiveness of “orphanages,” families in Myanmar must be coached and discipled on God’s passion and priority for kids and the family. There is a need for someone to coach other teachers, ministry leaders, pastors, and local Buddhist and Christian families to creatively disciple kids in the context of the home.

REQUIREMENTS:
Singles, couples, family with kids, or empty-nesters with independent, motivated, flexible, humble, relational spirits, willing to adapt to the Myanmar culture, even learning the Burmese language. A person with a Bachelor’s degree, a love for kids and families with some teaching and/or counseling experience. A person who is spiritually mature with some Bible training, and able to travel independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct Biblical family trainings, build relationships, and serve in a local church.
LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Live by yourself, with a roommate, or with your family in an apartment in Yangon, but travel often to other cities in Myanmar and greater Southeast Asia.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work in partnership with a local church networking with other churches as well as local and international children’s workers and families.
