We are seeking a trained counselor or psychologist to work with the Taiwan Missionary Fellowship and the Center for Counseling and Growth in Taichung. With the many stresses of third culture living, there is often a need for skilled counseling and wisdom to assist members of the missionary community.
Missionary Care Counselor
REQUIREMENTS:
Recognized degree in Marriage and Family counseling, Psychology or related field. Appropriate state or federal licensure or certification. Ability to live in another culture. An understanding of the stresses of third culture living, and its affects on mental health. A love for fellow missionaries. There will be a need to learn Basic Mandarin Chinese for living within the culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To join with the staff of Taiwan Missionary Fellowship/Center for Counseling and Growth to come alongside WorldVenture missionaries as well as missionaries from other organizations to promote good mental and spiritual health. If training and gifting are suitable, then to assist in the leadership of TMF/CCG.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
TMF is based out of the city of Taichung, located in central Taiwan. It is an modern urban area with easy access to supermarkets, department stores and good health care. Living accommodations are usually in an apartments or townhouse. Language schools are readily available, along with a significant expatriate community.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The main purpose of the position is to assist other missionaries, so counseling will be done primarily in English. Donations made for counseling will go to keep the center open for future missionaries. Colleagues will come from other missions, with whom a working relationship will be developed. Time will be available for travel to other areas for counseling needs there as well.
