Nurse Practitioner

Use your nurse practitioner skills in a quality out-patient clinic and hospital. Be involved in diagnosing and counseling HIV/AIDS patients.

REQUIREMENTS:
Nurse practitioner with 1 year of experience required. Helpful areas of training/experience include family practice, women's health, pediatric care, HIV/AIDS teaching, supervision. Knowledge of tropical medicine necessary. Cooperative, dependable, industrious, adaptable, with stamina, having solid prayer support base, flexible person willing to work long hours and take evening/night call as needed. Some French would be helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consult patients in out-patient clinic. Patient teaching and counseling with an emphasis on spiritual care. Supervise and train national staff in doing quality care. Participate in evening/night emergency call, administration and other duties as they arise. Participate in evangelism and discipleship ministry of the hospital.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Team members are housed on the large hospital compound. Houses are cement block and minimally furnished but with electricity (220) and running water/plumbing. Limited internet and phone service available.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Help with an active out-patient clinic which sees 100-200 patients/day. May also be involved with in-patient care (61 beds) and in the surgical services (4 OR blocks).
