Student and/or Children’s Outreach
REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in partnering with your supervisors, their ministry partners and church community to build new relationships with nearby university students. Join in existing groups focused on reaching university students, such as Alpha, small groups, outreach activities, Discovery bible studies and English corner. There is also opportunity to work in children’s ministry at church and also to take Mandarin courses.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
You would be living in an apartment in the Kowloon area of Hong Kong with 1 or 2 other interns. There is easy access to public transportation and all the stores you will need to sustain your life here. One of the University campuses you will work on is just a 10-minute bus ride from where you will live. The other is about 45 minutes away by public transportation (or a 20-minute taxi ride).

Our church meets on the edge of a big University Campus (12,000 students) therefore, we are a very student focused church. We are excited to welcome you into our church family as well. Hong Kong is a city of close to 8 million people. Though most of the city’s population is Chinese, there are also thousands of internationals who live in this city. The two main languages are Cantonese and English. However, Mandarin is spoken more and more these days. The city of HK is estimated to be about 5% Christian. So, there is no end of the opportunities to share the good news with people who don’t know Him. There is an open door, if you so choose, to get a visa to Mainland China, about 45 minutes away by public transportation. As you may have heard, Mainland China has a population of 1.4 billion people, most of whom are lost without Christ. We have partners and friends in Mainland China that would love for you to come for a visit and pray about whether God is calling you to help reach the Han Chinese (the largest unreached people group in the world) with the gospel.
