The Welcome Movement will launch in January 2026 and is a focal part of WorldVenture’s strategy for missions in the U.S.
Our mission is to invite and empower followers of Jesus to love and journey together alongside immigrant and refugee communities through spiritual companionship and tangible expressions of biblical hospitality.
In traditional missionary work, people are often sent to a different country to learn a culture and language to hopefully be welcomed by locals to become close enough in relationship to share the love of Christ. The Welcome Movement is about welcoming people who have moved from their home, language, and culture into our own that we may be an extension of the radical love of Jesus to them. We want them to find a place where they feel a deep sense of belonging. We desire to see churches and individuals actively involved in loving, advocating for, and sharing life with immigrants and refugees. We believe the church is meant to be a reflection of God’s heart of welcome, and that welcoming our neighbors is an important part of global missions.
Our vision is to be a collective movement where immigrant and refugee communities experience healing, refuge, and belonging.
