We’re the Eisenhower’s 👋 (Mark, Taylor, Loey and Obie)! Mark & Taylor met on short-term missions in Brazil almost 15 years ago. This year we’re celebrating 10 years of marriage, 2 incredible kiddos, and 11 years of serving together at our local church in Tucson, AZ in pastoral ministry (Mark) and ministry support (Taylor). While we intended to jump right back into the mission field after we got married, the Lord had different plans. He wisely kept us in Tucson serving in different leadership capacities in the church, while at the same time equipping and preparing us to re-enter the mission field in His timing, specifically serving the unreached in Japan.
Japan has always been close to Mark’s heart because of the beautiful relationship he had with his grandmother who was born and raised in Tokyo. Over the years, as we’ve prayed together for direction and discernment with how to act on the increasing desire to go back into global missions, the Lord continued to burden our hearts for the lost people of Japan. With less than 1% of Japanese being Christian, the people of Japan are in desperate need of Jesus! In fact, statistically, the vast majority of Japan will never meet someone who is a Christian, let alone hear of the hope and forgiveness of Jesus Christ!
No matter how dark things appear for the people of Japan, Jesus, the Light of the world, shines in the darkness and the darkness will not overcome Him! So, we’re excited for our family to join a church planting team near Yokohama, Japan, seeking to evangelize our local community through incarnational living and Spirit-inspired love, while also making disciples in the local church and helping to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders in Japan. By God’s grace, we’ll see Him open the eyes and hearts of many people in the land of the rising sun, so they can embrace the Gospel of the Risen Son!
Please join us in praying for a great awakening in Japan, and that the Lord both softens and prepares the hearts of the people there so that they can repent and believe in the Gospel and receive life, both abundant and eternal!
