6432-001-Malawi H2O

Malawi H2O is an effort pioneered by a men's small group from Mission Community Church in Gilbert, Arizona, USA. In early 2017, they began a study on the book titled "Counter Culture" by David Platt. The book challenged them to live simply, help constructively, invest eternally, and give sacrificially - rather than in comfort. This thought process led to the genesis of Malawi H2O where funds would be raised to support the drilling of boreholes in Malawi, Africa. Malawi is in Southern Africa and year after year is in the top 5 poorest countries in the world where clean water…

THE PROBLEM: There are 2.3 billion children in our world today. Two thirds of them are still waiting to hear about Jesus and become all that God created them to be. Myanmar is a Buddhist Nation with 23 million children. We know that seventy percent of Christians pray to receive Christ before the age of 15 and that children are some of the best at reaching their friends with the gospel. What if every child in every community in Myanmar had someone to reach, disciple and empower them to become an influential Kingdom champion? 1for50 is a global grassroots movement…

Currently, this does not exist in Mombasa, which is a city with over 1 million people. Large percentages of youth in Mombasa are heading towards drugs and down a negative path. 6404-935-127 Uganda Initiative

Bringing Healing to Children in Uganda The 1:27 Uganda Initiative is based on the admonition of James 1:27, specifically caring for orphans. The project is designed to provide necessary surgery for orphan children in Uganda. These surgeries might be lifesaving... or they might be life-changing, like a simple surgery (cleft lip or hernia repair) which may improve the chances of a child being adopted. 1:27 gives medical surgeries to those children that are the most marginalized of already marginalized children. Many homeless children die between the ages of 2-4 years old. They suffer with no one to care for them…

6462-985-Women’s Bible and Leadership Formation at IBB

PROBLEM Two thirds of our church members are women, and in this culture it is difficult for women to confide in men, even their pastor. We need women better educated in God’s Word and mature in their faith who can teach, disciple, counsel and mentor other women. The IBB is our national church association’s main school for pastoral and leadership training. 6422-907-ZECNT Translation

The Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament (ZECNT) is uniquely helpful in that it is strategically-packaged conservative scholarship to assist conscientious preachers who are short on time. This project seeks to assist in funding the translation of the entire 20-volume series over the next 10 years (2016-2026). PROBLEM A great majority of pastors in the Spanish-speaking world are often both bi-vocational and limited in scholarly resources and training. Funds from this project will be used to purchase the corrugated iron sheets for church roofs. VISION Assisting these churches with roofing sheets is a big encouragement since it is difficult for the churches to afford these materials. Established church buildings will also provide a center for more training and outreach within the communities. STRATEGY Rural churches that receive assistance from this project are responsible to purchase land and build a basic structure. CAPACITY Each corrugated sheet costs about $10, and each church needs 40 to 60 sheets, depending on the size of the building.

6404-906-Pastor’s Child Education

This project provides the needed funds to sponsor and pay for school fees, enabling children of pastors to attend school. PROBLEM In Uganda the average pastor's family can have eight or more kids. Often more than one of them are in high school at the same time. With the average pastor's salary at $15 a month and the cost per child to attend high school is $200 per year, most pastors' kids go without an education. VISION We seek to care for the needs of the wider body of Christ, since a pastor's salary in Uganda cannot support the school…

6404-912-Kiburara Building Fund

We are increasing the size of the Bible college's library. It needs more good books that will help the students. PROBLEM Bible dictionary commentaries and biblical study books are not available in Uganda. Kiburara has a small library, less than 200 books in English. VISION These books will help students have better resources for studying and will help them gain better knowledge of the Bible. STRATEGY We hope to add 250 books to the library collection. CAPACITY A resource book for Bible study usually costs about $20. We hope that will also include the postage to Uganda.

6404-914-Nyabugando Baptist Secondary School

Often Christian young people are sent away to boarding school at the secondary level. This project is set up to assist in building and equipping the Baptist Secondary School in Nyabugando. The school is associated with the Nyabugando Baptist Church and provides a Christian education to the leaders of the future. PROBLEM Nyabugando Baptist Church has developed a primary school with over 1,000 students of church members and children from the community. This ministry and outreach has naturally led to the development of a secondary school to help children complete their education through the S4 level and vocational studies. VISION…

6404-918-Education Resources & Building

This project has the broad purpose of lending a helping hand to primary and secondary schools associated with the Baptist Union of Uganda. At the Bwaise Baptist Primary School, approximately 200 students in grades 1 through 7 study in five roughly constructed classrooms with dirt floors that are open to the elements and a dilapidated mud church building. Eighty percent of the students are orphans and unable to pay the requisite school fees. The school is located in one of the major slum areas of Kampala that floods whenever there are substantial rains, such that the school courtyard is literally…

6404-930-Internship in Discipleship

Create an intensive internship in discipleship for 10 men and 10 women during six months of their nine-month break between high school and further studies. PROBLEM There is a severe lack of moral training, therefore character does not develop along with education, thus there is a lack of integrity. VISION The Uganda field hopes to aid the church, which realizes the tremendous lack of mentorship and discipleship. The church will be strengthened through intentional mentorship, job creation, skill development, and body and soul care. STRATEGY The interns will be mentored in Bible study, life decisions and ministry skills while working…

6404-931-Pastor’s Kindle Resource Library

Pastors' Kindle Resource Library is an effort to supply pastors who can read English with a resource library of books relevant to the needs of their ministry. All of these books could be placed on a Kindle, a small electronic reader, and managed in a way that would encourage the pastor to read and grow. PROBLEM In Uganda, most pastors do not have access to any books that would help them in their sermon preparation and ministry. Books are expensive and hard to come by. Libraries are nonexistent or inaccessible by students studying at a Bible college. VISION Imagine a…

6404-909-Western Uganda Theological Education

Western Uganda Baptist Theological College (WUBTC) at Kiburara is a nationally run two-year residential program that trains men and their wives for the work of the ministry in rural Uganda. The sponsorship of pastors in training will go directly to the school to help cover the actual costs of this training. PROBLEM The school currently charges the pastors in training $25 per term but it costs much more than that to actually run the school. STRATEGY Staff and students alike grow their own food to help keep costs at a minimum. By sponsoring a pastor while he is in school,…

6404-924-Bible School Irrigation

Water is life. This project will provide access to water that is much needed at the Western Uganda Baptist Theological College. Students and staff at the college raise their own crops for food. Every two years the area experiences a drought that destroys the crops. Funds from this project will be used to build a solar energy-driven irrigation system. The college will also share the water with the nearby community. PROBLEM It would be a huge waste to let this school die for lack of water. They have trained national teachers and run an effective pastoral training program. There is…

6404-923-Bible School Housing

Funds from this project will be used to purchase building supplies for homes. PROBLEM Teachers at the Bible school only earn around $18 per month. They sacrifice because they see the importance of training pastors for Baptist churches in rural Uganda. VISION The homes will be a great encouragement for the faculty of a Bible college who sacrifice to teach and train students to serve as pastors in rural areas of Uganda. STRATEGY This project will help raise $2,000 for each teacher to purchase brick, concrete, wood and iron sheets needed to construct a moderate home. They and their families…

6403-917-ITES Support for Nationals

The Institut de Theologie Evangelique du Senegal (ITES) trains national church leaders to help churches in Senegal. Currently there are a few nationals on staff at the school but ultimately it would be beneficial to have the school run completely by nationals. The administration would like to hire a full-time Senegalese director. PROBLEM The primary church leadership training school in Senegal would greatly benefit from having a full-time national director. However, the tuition charged is not sufficient to support a director's salary. VISION A Senegalese director could be much more effective in making the school relevant to Senegalese church and…

6403-913-Publication of Wolof Scripture

The project is a revolving fund to receive sales of Wolof scriptures and fund the printing and shipping of the Wolof Bible ($16 each) and New Testament ($8 each). The project will also supply funds to publish "spin-off's" in-country: single books such as Genesis, Psalms, Proverbs, Luke-Acts and probably a mini-Bible selection of OT and NT passages. These books will encourage readers to start reading the Bible, then hopefully desire to have a whole Bible. At least that is our prayer. The word of God births faith.

6403-945-Digital Players for Evangelism

Missionaries who want to see the church in Senegal strongly founded on the Word of God, have made the New Testament available in recorded format. Megavoice, a small, durable, and easy to use digital audio player with its own power source, can hold up to 180 hours of audio. Funds will be used to purchase Megavoice players and distribute them to believers. PROBLEM Even though an excellent translation of the New Testament and portions of the Old Testament exists in Senegal, the majority of believers there cannot read. VISION Everyone can have access to God's word in the privacy of…

6403-942-Vocational Training

These funds will sponsor the training of workers by paying for their course work, food and/or room. Funds will also help purchase tools, materials or needed machines to encourage young men as they begin a career. Job skills will help provide for families, in a dignified way, who will then bless the church with tithes and offerings and allow the workers to assist others. VISION Demonstrating compassion opens doors to evangelize and plant churches among Muslim peoples. STRATEGY Scholarships in accounting, business, and computer that were granted in the past have helped develop leaders who currently support themselves while they…

6403-953-Recorded Wolof Scripture

The Word of God in one's heart language is a powerful change agent. Senegalese believers who have attended French-speaking churches for years have finally understood the stories of the Bible after having heard the Bible in Wolof. Thus, the goal of this special project is to provide the Wolof Bible in oral means to an oral culture. PROBLEM Eighty percent of Senegalese, whether ethnically Wolof or not, speak Wolof as a first or second language. Because French is used in schools to learn to read and write, even the small percentage of those who are literate (23 percent) do not…

ITES is a Bible-based church leadership training school whose mission is to train indigenous leadership for the national church in Senegal and beyond. This special project is intended to cover the financial gap so that the school can not only continue to train leaders for the Senegalese church, but also expand. WorldVenture is endeavoring to equip female believers to serve their families, churches and communities as a follower of Christ through a training course called, Formation Lois. The goal of this project is to teach women in the villages the basics of the Christian faith and give them the tools and the confidence to continue growing in their faith on their own. PROBLEM Often Senegalese women are left behind in educational opportunities, and specifically in discipleship and Bible knowledge. Through this program WorldVenture is trying to remedy this great lack. It is aimed at the oral learner. VISION Since women make…

Established in 1994 by several western missions (including WorldVenture) and several Senegalese national churches, the Evangelical Theology Institute of Senegal (ITES) is a Bible-based church leadership training school whose mission is to train indigenous leadership for the national church in Senegal and beyond. Currently 53 men and one woman have gone through this training program. This program has really taken off, but it is already difficult just to pay the basic operating expenses of ITES. 6403-901-Evangelical Institute Library

This project provides funds for the purchase of library resources for the Evangelical Institute of Dakar. This institute is the primary church leadership training school in Senegal. PROBLEM The institute's library currently holds approximately 3,000 volumes, but this includes English language resources as well as French. We need more French language theological resources on site for the students to use in their research and just general reference work. VISION An adequate theological library is key to educating church leaders and to continue the process of accreditation.

6403-907-Wolof Bible Translation #1 Advanced Regional

This is the final stage of a 60-year project begun in 1963 by a British worker with the Open Brethren. He worked with Mr. Fall, then Mr. Fall's son, who died in the year 2000. Another Wolof believer finished what was lacking, but had a different style so what had been done already had to be revised. He died in August of 2021, but the preparation for typesetting carried on with experienced checkers.

6403-908-Ngaparou Campsite Development

This project provides funds for the renovation and development of a camp on the beach in Senegal. This campsite has been used for many years by people from all over Senegal. Many Senegalese have become Christians at the camp and many Christians have been strengthened in their faith. VISION By renovating existing structures, building new ones, and equipping these structures with basic living furniture, the Senegal field will equip church leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ through evangelism and Christian growth camps. STRATEGY This project will also be facilitating partner missions in the larger cause of Christ as these…

6403-912-Radio Evangelism

In a country of 18 million people where half are illiterate, it is imperative to disseminate the gospel through oral media. Listening to the radio, especially to local stations, is popular in Senegal. Local stations are making airtime available to churches and missions, sometimes freely or very economically. The Association of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Senegal (AEEBS) was offered time on a few radio stations. A couple pastors are going to the radio station to record. The project funds training for new radio programmers and for the renovation of a recording studio.

The funds from this project will be applied to the purchase of an existing building or land where the needed facilities can be built. PROBLEM Currently the school is located in an apartment and needs to have a defined location apart from this setting. These facilities are also too small for the growing institution. The school needs its own location as this is very important culturally in order to give the school a…

6403-933-Famine Relief

Funds from this project will be used to purchase food staples that will be distributed to a devastated area of Senegal. PROBLEM A locust plague destroyed much of the crops in the area surrounding Diourbel. Chemicals used to control the infestation poisoned the plant life, which in turn, has killed many animals. VISION We want to see communities transformed as we encourage and equip the churches in demonstrating kingdom compassion in this time of need. STRATEGY We are encouraging planting of vegetable gardens where good water is available. Plans need to be made for seed for next year's cultivation cycle,…

6451-908-Shempire Translation

This project will provide funds to help underwrite the activities needed to translate and print the Bible into Shempire. PROBLEM The Shempire are an unreached people group lacking churches and the Word of God in their own language thus restricting what can be done in evangelism, discipleship and leadership formation. With the Bible in Shempire the people can access for themselves the very mind of God and know his will concerning their lives and his desires for them. With the Word of God in Shempire evangelism and discipleship can more easily be carried on and leaders be better formed resulting…

Many times these children have been provided very little food to sustain themselves, are almost always dirty and unkempt to appeal to those they are begging from. Many children have no opportunity to receive an education and many times do not even know their own age. Their parent(s) are many times uneducated, without work and often do not properly care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of their children. VISION…
